My Mum is a Wonder (ages 0-7)
“When I was a young mom, I initially hesitated to read My Mum is a Wonder to my sons because I didn’t feel that I measured up. I didn’t feel I had the right to hold up this little boy’s observations as an ideal for my children to “recognize” and “relate to” when I didn’t actually see myself in her. I felt like a hypocrite every time I tried to read the gentle poetry.
But over time, I found that this lovely ode to motherhood actually inspired me to be better! It taught me about the ideals we should all be aspiring to – ideals of service, compassion, worship, homemaking, filial piety, etc. I’m so glad I didn’t give up on it!”
