Teaching Tools
  • The Quran and hadith both mention the importance of feeding the poor. Discuss the following hadith, in which Allah is questioning a man about his actions: The Prophet ﷺ said, “Allah says ‘I asked you for food and you did not feed Me.’ [His slave] will say, ‘Lord, how could I feed You when You did not ask me for food and You are the Lord of the universe?’ He will say, ‘Do you not know that My slave so-and-so asked you for food and you did not feed him? Do you not know that if you had fed him, you would have found that action with Me?” (#18, 40 Hadith Qudsi)
  • Sofia ran into Maddi’s home and swung open her fridge. Was that good manners?
  • Discuss when we should keep a promise and when it’s better to break it. Did Sofia try not to break her promise? How do we know? Why do you think Sofia finally broke her promise? Did she do the right thing?
  • Discuss needs vs. wants. Luis loves Cheesy Pizza Bombs. Which treats do you love? Do you get them all the time? Do you need them? What are foods you need vs. foods you want?
