Although Aarav’s always in a hurry and his grandpa likes to take things slow, they find a way to make masala chai together every day. When Thatha gets hurt, chai goes from delicious to undrinkable, until Aarav realizes that some things are worth slowing down for.Mindful Muslim Review
“Masala Chai was worth slowing down for…and so was Thatha.” The beauty of slowing down, taking your time, and showing mindfulness in performing our daily acts of living is portrayed in this simple, sweet story.
An energetic young boy is often forced to slow down by his grandfather’s more gentle pace of life, but he doesn’t learn the value and worth of moving slowly until his grandfather falls ill. The boy learns to appreciate the wisdom of his elders and their way of carrying on traditions that don’t often match the frenetic, high-speed, on-demand life we live today. For very young children who have a hard time slowing down or taking time to follow instructions, they will get a sense of the importance of order and purpose in our everyday activities.
