Evan and his dog do everything together, from eating ice cream to caring for their award-winning garden, which grows big and beautiful. One day the unthinkable happens: Evan’s dog dies. VIEW FLAGS
Mindful Muslim Review

Can beauty save the world? This story gives a resounding yes in a simple tale that children can understand. A farmer loses his beloved dog and drowns himself in his sorrow. He allows his grief to manifest through ugliness, destruction, and isolation. But by casually ignoring the tendrils of a prickly and spidery pumpkin vine and allowing it to grow in his now ruined garden, the softs whispers of beauty reach out and touch his heart, making him whole again. This book reminds us of the healing power of nature in our lives and its ability to give light in times of darkness and despair.
